What Makes An Eagle Scout... The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest a boy can achieve in Boy Scouts. Though to many, achieving Eagle Rank seems larger than life. In reality there are only six requirements. Planned correctly with a systematic approach, nothing can stop every boy from becoming an Eagle!

As boys advance through the Scout ranks they are recognized for what they DO. The Eagle Rank is different, because it is more a measure of the KIND OF PERSON A BOY BECOMES, not merely what activities have been completed.

Troop 403 is proud to say that we work hard to give every opportunity to every boy who passes through our program to make it to Eagle Scout...

An Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Those who attain this rank are called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than 1.7 million young men. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle".

Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges and demonstrating Scout Spirit, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. Eagle Scouts are presented with a medal and a badge that visibly recognizes the accomplishments of the Scout. Additional recognition can be earned through Eagle Palms, awarded for completing additional tenure, leadership, and merit badge requirements.
